Towbar electrics
Most trailers only have 1 plug unless it is a trailer tent which some have 2, In this case please see Caravan Electrics
This short guide is just to help you on the right path to selecting the correct electrics for your vehicle upon purchase of a towbar. We cannot guess which electrics you need for your trailer so this guide is just to help you establish which kind of plug to look for on your trailer. If you get stuck or need assistance please contact a member of the team on the number below.
The normal, cost effective (and legal) minimum requirement for Trailers is single electrics. This gives you the following connections as an output from your vehicle:
L Indicator
R Indicator
L Sidelight
R Sidelight
Brakelights
Fog Lights
Ground
When you choose Advanced towing to install your single electrics our minimum basic fit includes an audible buzzer which warns you when indicating whilst towing.
Just because you have a trailer you are not limited to only Single electrics, You too can still have twin electrics just in case you ever upgrade to a trailer or caravan that may need Twin electrics in the future. You only use the plugs you need !
